What It Is

Warbler is a desktop Adobe AIR application that allows you to easily "tweet" the latest songs posted to your last.fm account. Of course it requires both a last.fm account and twitter account as well as the Adobe Integrated Runtime. NOTE: If you have the beta version of warbler already installed, it may be uninstalled before updating. This will not be necessary for future releases.

Features

  • Post recently played songs directly from desktop
  • Marking songs as loved is unnecessary
  • Sensitive information is encrypted and stored locally or not saved at all
  • "Tweet" message is fully customizable

Changes in 1.2

  • allows user to show/not show animations
  • some minor design tweaks

Changes in 1.1

  • bypasses the login screen if your information is saved
  • specifies on Twitter that tweet was posted from warbler

Changes in 1.0

  • new design
  • select how often to update list of tracks
  • select how many tracks to display
  • more control over tweet message
  • can be minimized to system tray/dock
  • choose whether or not to display URL to song in tweet
  • automatically notifies of future updates

Just what I was looking for. Thx for this :)

Sorry about the technical difficulties Georgia. There's nothing extra that needs to be done. Have you tried checking with another last.fm and/or twitter account. And what OS/AIR version?

  • Georgia    Sat, October 03, 2009
I installed it, and the program is running, but nothing shows up under "Displaying tracks played by..." I'm logged in and everything, is there something else I need to do?

Auto publish and a different url shortener are the next two things coming down the line. Thank you for all the comments.

  • Theo    Tue, August 11, 2009
Yes yes ! Auto Publish, we need auto publish !!!

  • Dul Machin    Fri, July 17, 2009
Love this. Prefer manual to auto because it just works. One thing, though. If I add a character encoding string to the tweet text, it doesn't display in the field the next time I return to settings, making me think it has been deleted. It still tweets the character but the encoding string disappears from the text field.

This is amazing! I'm surprised that I can't more easily tweak my tweet. I mean -- you have it setup template style but I wanted to use this where I can say something and then that Tweet Text from settings can show up. Am I missing something? So if i wanted to tweet about three recent songs I'd have to go into Settings and then make my changes there?

Gr8 app! Nice and simple, and I dig the 3d animation:) Two things though: - any chance for integrating it with tweetdeck? - and automatic updates option would also be useful:) Respect!

Hey SNM, did you try try the badge install or the direct download? Both actually seem to be working now. Maybe just a mediatemple server glitch. Sorry 'bout that.

  • SexyNinjaMonkey    Mon, May 04, 2009
I tried downloading a couple of times today but it keeps saying the app is broken

  • Reilly    Sun, April 26, 2009
very nice app! it would be nicer if it could auto tweet the song every x amount of minutes. loving the animations too

  • Devon O    Sun, April 12, 2009
Thanks, Todd! Not sure what's next on the list - unless I start looking at themes...

  • Todd    Sat, April 11, 2009
Nice improvements in the new release!

  • Greg    Wed, April 08, 2009
Thanks for all the work you are putting in to this. :)

  • Devon O    Wed, April 08, 2009
Hey Greg, thanks for all the feedback. Colors/layout are rather a losing situation. First, I am definitely more developer than designer. Second, no matter what you do, someone out there will dislike it. Perhaps I'll look into making the app skinnable. Or at least offering a couple different themes to choose from. As far as the animations go, not seeing them may be a user option for a future release.

  • Greg    Tue, April 07, 2009
And I don't like the new colors, sorry. Any chance of going back to the old style? Other then that I'm really happy with the app! :)

  • Greg    Tue, April 07, 2009
The animations get a bit annoying after a while. I would like the mode to change immediately, not after an animation.

  • Tony    Mon, April 06, 2009
Awesome Devon, thanks for this. I've been using twitterfeed, but this gives much more control.

  • Devon O    Sun, April 05, 2009
Hey Greg. Sorry the comments seem to have cut you off. You're right - if you're password is saved, it shouldn't be necessary to "login" each time. That'll be the first thing I change later. I'd be interested in hearing your final thoughts on the transitions as well.

  • Greg    Sun, April 05, 2009
Thanks for putting in the requested features! I have some feedback for you. I still need to login everytime I start the program. Is there a reason for that? It doesn't seem necessary. Although I think the animation between the 3 modes is really cool, it
